I know this is mad old, but I want to share something that irks me in a lot of these stories:

> They finished as always, with a run, but tonight Joe decided to keep pace with Liza again. She started by dialing up to a 12-minute mile, a steady if breezy pace for the seasoned runner that Joe had no trouble matching. But after a few minutes she dialed up to six miles an hour, then six and a half. Harder but not impossible for him. The real challenge came in endurance: they ended up running a full fifteen minutes, at which point Liza dropped down to three and a half miles an hour and continued for another five. The actual cool down of the cool down process was two minutes of a brisk walk, coming after he was taken to the limits of his cardio abilities.

The general expectation of "stamina" and running ability is very, very underestimating. A 12 minute mile is very slow for a "seasoned runner", and six miles an hour, aka 10 minute miles is a travesty if thats what the supposed "seasoned runner" can do and the gym bro can barely do.
